Information about Finland

Finland is a Nordic country that’s located in northern Europe by the Baltic Sea. It has about 5.5 million inhabitants. Finland gained independence in 1917. Finland is part of the European Union (EU).

Around 75 % of Finland’s surface is covered with forests, and it has the world’s biggest archipelago, as well as Europe’s largest lake district and last untamed wilderness, Lapland. 

Finland has been recognized as the happiest country in the world for several years running.

It’s also considered one of the safest countries to live and travel in; crime rates in Finland are low. Major natural disasters such as tornadoes, typhoons and earthquakes are practically non-existent.
